Description So, this is the final concept piece for my scholarship thingy. Basically my first real environmental painting... I do wish it were better though, but, obviously since I've never really done anything like this before...

So, basically it's like Mars, but with awesome anti-gravitation fluid that leaks out of volcano like structures on the surface, and into awesome canyons. There aren't really clouds, but instead there are giant floating boulders that have the anti- gravitation fluid trapped inside of them, causing them to float. The town in the middle is a frontier town, filled with buildings that store the fluids, and use it for light, and for refueling transport AI, such as the DRA-90N model.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to do more landscape studies in the future.

When I see this my mind keeps wandering to lice something from a scene from the Martian Chronicles minus the floating islands, the flowing of water looks as well to what the surface once had. I like this landscape, it is very red, and quite setting to the fantasy theme nicely done.

Ah, see, I was using Mars heavily as an inspiration really. I eventually named the game "Ares", because it is the counter part of the Greek / Roman God of war, Mars.

The fluid flowing down the mountains and cliffs is actually a sort of glowing anti-gravitaional fluid, which is the main cause of the floating islands and rocks in the sky. I tried to stick with a very red color scheme on the surface, and if I made another enviromental concept, I would have made an underground landscape, that was primarily blue.

Thank you ^^

Well I knew because red was involved it had to come into play somehow, and the liquid is anti-gravity hmm well their went the other possibility that it could have been like Titan with lakes etc of flowing methane and natural gas.

Eeeee

Well, for it being an environment, something I am completely new at, I think I did rather well. I really wish I could have portrayed the concept I had in my mind more! There's just this incredible picture that I can't squeeze out onto the (digital) canvas. I hope I get some kind of award for this... That'd sure make my year xD

I really like this. It's not necessarily refined, but I still love it. Awesome job! Great color scheme, and lovely portrayal of an idea.
