The color on this truck popped so brilliantly that it hurt my eyes. I tamed the image color down just a bit, but you could sure see this vehicle from several miles away, possibly even in the dark of night...........lol! It is an absolutely gorgeous color green, but that seemed to be the color of choice this year.

Wow Jim! That is GREEN Β Nice shot - Great color - somewhere between the "best HDR-like" image or just superb combination of color/tone/shadow/sharpness. As for critique? I MIGHT consider (test and try) reducing the white point just a tad to bring back the highlights a little - Not (!) contrast (it has plenty of range/contrast) - just enough to get the headlights back in a little...
I hope that truck sounds as good as it looks!Β
And you should send the owner a copy of this - I'm sure they'd love to see it!

Thanks very much Ric, I will try that (reduction of white point). I can only assume that this beast sounds as good as it looks, however the owner was not nearby for me to ask for a demonstration.

Weather: Crystal clear and ~30F , so morning walks are a bit "brisk" - but at least it's not raining! Β How's the other corner of the states ?Β

Weather: partly cloudy, sunny and ~80F, pleasant day to be working on the roof putting up Christmas lights.

NICE! - (ok, I'm jealous, but I have to accept that we don't have hurricanes or tropical storms - so I guess it's fair...)!

Knock-on-wood we haven't had to deal with any of those getting close to us in a number of years (at least were I'm located), but it does not serve well to be a smart-ass either...LOL!

yeah - I was going to be belligerent / cocky about it - but I'm SURE that it would start freezing rain on my next walk - so I'll try for some "good" karma. Β
Of course - if I am NOT a smart-ass, my wife might just have a heart attack...
Decisions.... Decisions... Β LOL!!!

We, you and I suffer from the same affliction. Of course it is better than the alternative.........being a Dumb-ads, of course I claim no immunity from that affliction sometimes either!

Wow this is a fantastic image! As you may well know, cars and trucks are not my subject really but as a photographer I love this photograph regardless. There's something almost unreal about it, and I mean that in the most positive way. The vehicle really jumps out of the photograph. Tonally it is wonderful and the metallic finish of the car really shines through.Β
As for any meaningful critique, I don't think there is too much to say really. I would perhaps myself up the contrast a little in post process and raise the hue a little to brighten up the image a little and make that green really pop. I think your camera settings were spot on though, I certainly would not have done anything different. The depth of field is great and the framing is perfect to my eyes. Is it as shot or have you cropped? Either way you have done well.
It's good to see some new work from you, it may not be my subject but I appreciate a good image when I see one.

Thanks very much Daniel. I appreciate the critique, I did very minimal cropping on this image, it was a very tight composition to begin with. As for the contrast, I did bump it a bit, however I had to back it down again as it made this already electric green paint of this truck a little too vibrant, almost to the point of it appearing to green, if that makes sense.

It did indeed make sense, I agree that sometimes the option not to process too much is the right one. One thing can conspire against another on occasion and sometimes it is best to let things be. As I said it's a fantastic shot as is. I think the tight crop is to the images credit as it really makes the truck jump out of the image.

I was also using a 10-20mm lens on this image due to the close proximity of other vehicles so this was a first for me using that lens under these conditions.
