First seen in the final page of my fan comic, Tainted Love ( [link] ). Originally, she was never intended to be anything more than a single-page plot device, so I was surprised when so many people started asking me about her. I didn't even have a name for her, but I decided, in a combination of boredom and the need for practice, that I would try to develop her a bit more, and update her as well, since there wasn't really a great deal of effort put into her original design. It wasn't as easy as it normally is for me, because normally I have some kind of central concept that I build upon when I design characters. In this case, I had none. Like I said, she was originally just a plot device. However, I can now finally present you all with Hime Hanzo.

Personality: At first glance, Hime Hanzo seems to live up to her name, because she often comes across as a pampered princess. She can be single-minded and air-headed at times, and prefers to avoid physical conflict and labour as much as possible. However, those who underestimate her often find themselves on the losing side of a battle, for when forced into action, Hime reveals a ferocious side to her nature, lunging head-first into battle and overwhelming her opponents with a surprising balance of speed, strength, and cunning. She possesses considerable taijutsu abilities, which, when combined with her clan's Art of Chakra Folding, makes her a ninja warrior few would wish to willingly go up against in hand-to-hand combat.

Art of Chakra Folding: The secret art of the Hanzo clan of Kirigakure, the Art of Chakra Folding allows one to shape and solidify their chakra into a variety of weapons and tools. When utilized by an experienced practitioner, the Art of Chakra Folding allows one to adapt to almost any situation by properly forming the perfect tool for the job. Hime is still learning the finer aspects of the technique, but shows great promise in the eyes of her clan's leaders.

Weaknesses: Although her taijutsu and Chakra Folding make her a formidable force when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, she is wanting in the areas of Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. Also, because she is still learning the Art of Chakra Folding, her forms can sometimes be imperfect, and she is unable to add a change in Chakra Nature to her forms, as experienced practitioners are able to do.

Her reluctance to engage in battle can sometimes lead her to neglect perfect opportunities to engage in surprise attacks, or to carry out the first attack, meaning she often starts fights and battles in defensive format, allowing skilled opponents to defeat her before she can go on the offensive.

She can sometimes come across as annoying to others, especially those who do not know her.
