Danse Macabre, translating to "Dance of Death" was a popular phrase in the late 1800s from France meaning "no matter one's station in life, the Dance of Death unites all." It was commonly illustrated as a symbol of death (like a bone DADDY) leading people of all walks of life to dance to the grave (usually a king, laborer, pope, and child). Therefore, for this piece, I drew a skeleton dressed like a queen (to symbolize royalty, also dresses are pretty sue me)!
I drew the roses to stand out and contrast, plus if you wanna get poetic you could say the roses symbolize the beauty of death's ability to unite anyone but ehhhh poetry is for nERDS I say as a published poet pfffff

Do I feel guilty for tracing the picture of a real skull from google? kinda... I've never taken an art class before so I've never drawn skeletons. Drew the rest of the skelly tho!
