Description For some context, the blank meme no longer exists, I had to use someone's filled in meme in order to do this.  But I wanted to talk about all my favorite cartoons throughout the decade, because the 2000s was a time where I really thrived in cartoons... somewhat.  I was entering my teenage years, AKA the years where 'you shouldn't be watching cartoons at that age', but screw that stereotype, cartoons are for everyone!  And if everyone doesn't see that, well, tough for them.

ANYWAY... like I said, the 2000s really came up with some great cartoons around this time.  Yeah, the latter half of the 2000s went downhill in terms of said cartoons, so it was rare to find gems in those times, but when those shows worked, they really worked.  But I digress.  Let's talk about the cartoons of the 2000s that I grew up with!

2000: BUZZ LIGHTYEAR OF STAR COMMAND (Admittingly, it's hard to find some quality shows that made their debut in the year 2000.  Sure, there was Weekenders, Static Shock, X-Men Evolution and Aqua Teen Hunger Force for those of you who enjoy that sort of show... but the show that stood out to me in the year 2000 was Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.  You could say this was a spinoff show in the Toy Story universe that doesn't focus on the Toy Story universe, but rather focuses on the adventures of Buzz Lightyear and his team of Mira Nova, Booster and XR.  I remember always liking Mira of the group, I admittingly thought she was cute.  But yeah, a show that focuses on Buzz and his group fighting against Zurg and other villains?  This was the type of show I liked!  I guess that's why I enjoy sci-fi shows quite a lot.)

2001: THE PROUD FAMILY (2001 got a little better with shows like House of Mouse, Samurai Jack, Justice League, Legend of Tarzan, Invader ZIM and the Fairly Oddparents.  But the show that stood out to me in that time was The Proud Family, and why not?  I enjoyed the wild antics of Oscar Proud, Penny Proud and Suga Mama as while there were some mundane adventures they went on, sometimes, they could go a little wild with the ideas they went with.  Yeah, there are some ideas that are mundane like Penny hosting a secret party at her house when her parents aren't looking or going out on strike for chores, but then you have the wacky episodes like when Penny turns into a superhero or when Al Roker appeared as a malevolent wish granter for Penny Proud... I always enjoyed those episodes.  Even looking at it on Disney Plus now, this still holds up as a great show, and I, for one, personally can't wait for "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder" series on Disney Plus when it comes out.)

2002: THE ADVENTURES OF JIMMY NEUTRON: BOY GENIUS (AKA the show that got me into shipping.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I don't call Hey Arnold out for shipping, but I call this as the show that got me into shipping.  Still, aside from that, Jimmy Neutron is a surprisingly clever show, with Jimmy having smart and interesting ideas for inventions that either backfire or help him in any situation, a few bad guys that Jimmy has to fight in quite a rogue gallery, and it even had a lot of hour specials that I remember, like "Attack of the Twonkies", the Jet Fusion episodes, and yes, even the show's way of pushing Jimmy and Cindy together.  I think it's safe to say this is a CG show that really works in its favor.  Yeah, it's a bit dated in animation, but the show still had a lot of clever ideas.)

2003: DUCK DODGERS (I love Looney Tunes, so therefore, I should like ALL Looney Tune shows, right?  Well, there are a couple exceptions to that rule.  Baby Looney Tunes was one of those shows I couldn't stand, and Loonatics Unleashed... well, it's more of an 'eh' for me.  I remember liking Loonatics fine, but not a spectacular show.  But I'll talk about that when I eventually get to my review of all Looney Tunes shows.  All I can say about Duck Dodgers is that this is one of those shows that I really love and find funny.  After all, it's Daffy Duck and Porky Pig fighting for their army against Martian commanders, one led by Marvin the Martian himself.  I'll just leave it with this, if you haven't already seen the show, I would recommend checking it out.)

2004: FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS (Admittingly, I got into this show because my friends were also fans of the show, and yeah, they were right to introduce me to the show, it had some great humor, good character moments, and Bloo, he can be either a character you love or a character you hate for reasons.  Yeah, later seasons make the characters act a little out of character, but the heart of Foster's was always there, and this would be a show I wouldn't mind seeing a reboot or a revival TV movie of... just so long as they hire the REAL creators, and not whatever happened with 2016 Powerpuff Girls.)

2005: CATSCRATCH (I've talked about this in my Top 10 Favorite Nicktoons, but to summarize, this show is an extremely underrated classic that I think deserves a lot more love than everyone thinks.  Seeing the misadventures of three cats owning a mansion and trying to live up to high life REALLY made me laugh out loud, and admittingly, I wouldn't mind seeing more.)

2006: THE EMPEROR'S NEW SCHOOL (Kuzco returns and this time, he has to attend school in order to claim his title as emperor!  Yeah, admittingly, this show didn't make a lot of sense, but has the Emperor's New Groove EVER made sense in its jokes?  The idea was that it was a comedy based on Incan culture.  Plus, this was the last time we've had Eartha Kitt in anything before she passed away shortly after the show's cancellation.  In fact, save for Kuzco and Pacha in the first season, the villains still did their roles perfectly, Kronk being silly and dimwitted, and Yzma determined to destroy Kuzco at any cost.  Admittingly, I still love this show.  It's a little underrated in my opinion and I'm surprised people don't talk about this show as often.)

2007: TOTAL DRAMA (Okay, this is going to be the time where choosing shows that I like will be difficult, since 2007 to 2009 was a rough time for cartoons.  But for 2007, I decided to go simple and choose Total Drama.  Why?  Well, this was the show that made me like the idea of cartoon reality shows.  Admittingly, I was already into Survivor and Amazing Race before Total Drama came out, but seeing a teenage version of Survivor, it was quite surreal.  I remember the cast of characters with their quirks that really got me into the show.  I still like Heather, even after all those times.  And after three seasons of the SAME CAST ALL OVER AGAIN, when the fourth season aired with new characters, it was like a fresh start.  All-Stars was a little iffy, but I think they came back to basics with Pahkitew Island.  Don't bother asking me about Ridonculous Race, because I never liked that spin off in the first place.  And Total Dramarama... well, it turned into a 'Muppet Babies' esque show that wasn't really funny, enough said.  Still, from the time I watched the original Total Drama and the first six seasons (I'm counting Pahkitew Island as a sixth season), I did enjoy them very much.)

2008: PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR (Ah, how could I not forget those silly penguins and their misadventures throughout the zoo and outside the zoo.  This was an alternate universe version of Madagascar taking place in a time where Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman presumably stayed in Africa, whilst the penguins went back to the zoo, and King Julien, Maurice and Mort moved in with the penguins to live at the zoo.  I always loved this show due to the unique humor and the surprising storylines that took place from within.  The best running gag is whenever Skipper or the penguins mention two members of their group named 'Manfredi and Johnson'.  I had no idea of this running gag until I saw this video on YouTube that compiles all the jokes.  Check it out, if you can!)

2009: THE GARFIELD SHOW (Admittingly, not as awesome as Garfield and Friends, but it was still enjoyable in its own right.  It's a CGI Garfield show about the adventures of our favorite lasagna-loving cat, with Odie, Jon, Nermal, Liz and an assortment of other characters that come and go in the life of Garfield.  Yeah, I will admit that while the Garfield Show leaves much to be desired, it does have a few episodes that were quite interesting, one of them even brings up what happened to Lyman from the early years of the comic strip and why he just... disappeared.  To me, that was pretty awesome.  Other than that, it was still as much Garfield as it was, and I do enjoy this CGI show quite a lot.)

And that should be all of the 2000s shows I remember enjoying.  If you want to do this meme yourself... well, you'll have to use mine and cover up the shows I have on or remove them, because the blank meme is no longer there.  But regardless, I hope you like this little romp through the past.  Next time, the 2010s and how they impacted me!
