Description Despite being the main villain of the Donkey Kong series, King K. Rool has been absent from the franchise since Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast, not appearing in Donkey Kong Country Returns or Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. What makes his absence in Tropical Freeze more confusing is that the game's antagonist is Lord Fredrik, who is blatantly a Snowmad version of K. Rool, sharing his massive body size, his own crew of baddies, his own ship, sharing his charging and jumping attacks from Donkey Kong Country 1, and having his very own weapon, similar to K. Rool's Blunderbuss from Donkey Kong Country 2, making Fredrik an unoriginal villain.

Just like Bowser, Ganon/Ganondorf, Ridley, and King Dedede, King K. Rool is a very iconic Nintendo villain, so I don't know why the DK series just ignored him for two games in a row.

Bringing back his gimmick of wearing different outfits and using different names for himself, if K. Rool was in Tropical Freeze, he would be called Lord K. Cold, and don Lord Fredrik's outfit, wearing his viking helmet (but having a Kremling icon), his furry cape and tunic, and wielding his horn weapon. The fact that Fredrik has a ship like K. Rool would make it more fitting for K. Rool to be in the game instead of an obvious replacement bad guy.
