Thankyou. I hope this went someway to saying what i felt. my dad dying was one of the few times that i've felt that there just _aren't_ words for how you feel.

:0 Very pretty! Is it supposed to be blurry like an effect?

Yeah, i thought the sharp clean print looked to clinical for the feeling i wanted to convey.

depending on how you look at the crispness of it. I mean you could interpret it at clarity in hindsight, or that the memories/experiences brought about by your fathers passing are still fresh.
in the same vein the haziness of what you have submitted could be interpreted as a sign of how the memories of your father are already starting to change or fade as wether you want it to or mean it to, they inevitably will such is the nature of the human mind.
the red of the rose could be suitable symbolism in either eventuality as it could easily be a sign of the body in a transmorphic kind of way like wine being the blood of christ type deal. so as a piece on it's own it's fully capable of standing and while it lacks the professionalism of more practiced photographers wether the photo is shown as crisp or hazy the emotion and passion (for want of a better word) is ever pressent and anything but clinical.

Very evocative... If it were your first attempt at getting into photography I do not necessarily see where the bad part of the picture is! A truly good photo is not one that shows perfect angles, a nice image but one that has depth and meaning behind it which obviously yours does. Reading the comment can only make this picture more valuable to those who see it. Lovely, thought provoking.

Thanks hun. But seriously this is not a photography attempt. it was the trees last bloom of the season and it was so beautiful and full and perfectly formed. I had to keep it somehow...and there you go.

Well even if it wasn't, it was still full of artistic merit. Beautiful and sentimental, a red rose is symbollic of love.
