Description
Just a nice little present for Robson Carr. After seeing him draw Joey as a genie I wanted to grab my copic markers and draw a genie myself, so I drew his genie character Petra. Whats funny is the story of how I gave him this picture. He gave me a picture (which he should be posting soon) of Jane on a motorbike, but in the tube it came in there was another present he asked me to wait to open till later on. so when I opened it I found my other present and asked him to take out the picture of Jane to show my folks and inside that picture I hid this one. He was never expecting to find a present for him in a present of mine. HA!

It was fun yet challenging to draw this quickly and in time. For one the only reference picture of Petra doesn't show her face very well, so I had to try and come up with how her face and eyes look. Next was to make good on colors with the limited selection of markers I have, which took some work. Then to make textures in the skirt and magical effects was a fun challenge.

In case you're wondering why Petra is frowning and looking a bit sad is largely because she has a terrible job. Yes immortality and great magical power might be some of the perks but those are outweighed by the downfalls. Her job is terrible, for starters she's not even getting paid for it. She works irregular hours at her masters whim as well as having really small living space for when she doesn't work. Her work is highly dangerous and stressful, especially because she works for a very harsh boss who tends to on the odd occasion punish her ruthlessly. All that and her major lack of free will also makes life difficult for her. She would quit if she could, but she was sort of... whisked into this position, hence the job dissatisfaction.
