Zeya is a Brown Hyena raised under a Spotted Hyena mentality. She is territorial, dominant, and aggressive. She will poke and prod just to get a reaction, and just to remind you that she is present, and she is above you.
One could describe her as trashy, crude, and unkempt. She has no filter on what she says, often coming across unflattering and brutish.

Zeya grew up the eldest of six siblings and her mother. As a child she had matured quickly and took her role of protector to her aging mother and younger sisters, often picking on them to 'toughen them up', though this really only succeeding in making them afraid of her. She was vicious in her role, and gave up on the 'supportive, friendly' older sister bit quite early on.

Growing up this way was lonely, where even her family stood their distance while taking advantage of the shield their oldest sister provided them. By being so brazen, she had painted a target on her back, allowing the rest of her family years of peace.

Zeya fought and intimidated her way through all threats in her life. She had to, but that's not to say she wasn't willing. One by one, through hardship or choice, her clan- her family, had slowly left, until only few remained.
Then one day, she held her head a bit too highly, and as Icarus had, she fell. She had gotten the attention of a gang who relentlessly beat her. And just as all Zeya had ever beaten before, the brown hyena slinked away into the shadows, defeated. She quietly moved her dwindling family to a safer spot, and bid them farewell.

She's developed plenty of bad habits, the biggest two being hygiene and an obsessive need to break things.
Zeya neglects basic hygiene, often finding it unimportant and a waste of time. She's not bothered by her own scent (though others very much are) and she lets the fur on the back of her neck turn into a matted mane. And she doesn't brush her teeth before bedtime. Horrible.
Her second bad habit is her biggest downfall. Zeya compulsively breaks objects- vandalizing public property, personal property, her own belongings, other people, and herself. She will not hesitate to rip a bolted mailbox off its post with her bare hands, smash windows, and tear her own clothes in frustration.
No one can say for certain if she's trying to be less violent, but this habit has slowly morphed into extreme workouts that push her body to its limits of exhaustion.
