Background: Canzone is rare in that he was raised in captivity. Found by a group of wandering minstrels as an egg, he was stolen from his parents' nest and was taken along by the gypsies, who originally planned to sell him at a high price to townspeople. However he hatched earlier than expected, and the gypsies soon found themselves unwilling to part with him due to his clear love of music - whenever one of them started to play, he would immediately start up a strange dance; prancing around them and adding his own voice to the mix.
It was not to last, however. While the troop were passing by the Shadowvale, they found themselves ransacked by a band of cutthroat thieves, who set about destroying the gypsy caravans and killing all who stood against them.

Unaccustomed to strife, Canzone fled the scene in a panic, and when he finally grew lonely and returned to try to find his adopted family, he found them still and songless.

Alone in the world for the first time in his life, Canzone constantly tried to find more humans to live with - always attracted to music and dancing. However he was no longer a small, sweet dragon, and his appearance always resulted in fear and anger from the humans.

He was finally captured by a dragon-hunting team, who removed him from Alderann and sold him on to a safe home where he would no longer be feared, and where he could finally enjoy music once more.
