Adroq shifted restlessly, muscles tensing and relaxing continuously, his entire being a ball of pent up nervous energy. He hated storms, hated them with a passion. Hated how suddenly they came, hated how loud they were, hated the relentless blinding flashes in the sky. Hell, he even hated the way they smelt - all darkness and wet electricity.

He hated how he could feel them in his veins, like calling to like, setting his nerves alight.

The pink stallion pinned his ears and kicked at his stall door, screaming his discontent. He hated the confinement, hated how closed in and warm it was, how it smelled of a million other stallions.

There was no such thing as distinct lines, in a place like this. Nothing he could eke out as his own, not really. Even this stall smelt like a past resident, and that along with the approaching storm made Adroq's blood heat madly.

Letting out another shrill, angry whistle, the young stallion threw his weight to the door, his cry cutting off into a surprised grunt as the old wood gave way. Momentarily dazed, he glanced up dizzily and froze as he found himself looking into the concerned face of one of his old paddock mates from foalhood. Baring his teeth and pinning his ears, Adroq forced himself to his feet, stumbling a tad drunkenly down the aisle before his equilibrium returned to him, allowing him to shoot out past the yelling drows. Dodging the angry captors with his own retorted glares and half-aimed kicks, he barrelled along endlessly till he was out of the stables and into the endless fields beyond.

Pinning his ears as he felt the onset of a drizzle, his nostrils flared as he turned his fierce gold eyes to the skies. Seeing the telltale dark - as if he hadn't already known, what with the cold and the wet and the sizzle - Adroq turned his back petulantly and, with an insolent kick farewell at the air, he took off running.

He'd likely return later, once the storm had blown itself out and his temper cooled enough to allow him to abide the smell of the other stallions around him.

However for now, he would run.
