Iorik had been tracking the mysterious black beast ever since he received reports of it from his warriors. He had been content to simply watch it from afar, to ensure its path never moved towards the main Packlands. But then he saw a youngling get too close to it and injure itself trying to escape.
When the black beast chooses to go inspect the youngling instead of continuing on its way, Iorik knows he can't take any chances. He attacks.
