That's all of them! All very sketchy on account of this not being a major project in my mind. Still great fun, though.

Dirk as Prince: I managed to be somewhat nice to him, recalling his reaction to Calliope's rendition of the Prince Tier. No poofy pants or ducky hood, no tights, and the pink has been toned down to something more closely approaching red. The heart symbol is also hidden in the shape of his shirt collars. Included a circlet and made his katana sheath shiny for the same reason as he's got fur trims around his neck and shoulders: he's the crown prince of Skaia here. That tends to show somehow.

Roxy as Rogue: My favorite so far <3. Especially the hat. The hat just works. So, Roxy's a Robin-Hood-esque figure, hiding out in the deep forests of Skaia, waylaying fat, rich merchant wagons and envoys with her band of Merry Carapacians. Despite being almost constantly sloshed, she manages to pull off these heists with great skill and swiftness. I expect she's the only master of a Drunken Fist Style this side of the fantasy world's Orient, and the only master of a Drunken Archery Style in this or any world.
The proceeds of every robbery go, of course, to the scattered camps of poor Carapacians throughout the woods. Because Roxy is awesome like that.

Jake as a Page: You know, when I first drew this I thought it might be a tad embarrasing to cosplay, at least for guys. Long shirt and not-that-long shorts and high-top boots, all in shades of cream and yellow...then we got [S] Caliborn: Enter. Hello, perspective!
Jake hasn't been serving as a Page very long, but he's already quite attached to his position in the castle, relatively low as it is (especially when contrasted with Dave, a practical prodigy in that he's already a knight despite being a few years younger than Jake). He's okay with that, though, being so cheerful and non-ambitious. The Prince, on the other hand, seems determined to somehow drub him into form and, eventually, up the ranks.

Jane as Maid: Also pleased with how she turned out. I hid the Life symbols in her vest embroidery, which is also very Life-y in its own right.
I've got the feeling that Jane is a baker's daughter, either in the city or in the castle. Not sure on that count just yet. Either way, she was friends with Roxy before the girl went rogue, though she still hears from her every now and again, and she makes sure to save all the scraps and extras she possibly can to pass on to the Carapacians. She's also good friends with John, has a crush on Jake, and doesn't believe a word of what people say about there being a powerful witch living in the woods...

These. These right here. You, Mr/Ms Oreramar, have inspired me with your MedievalStuck. And I have horrible artists block.

This looks amazing. They all look great, really, and props to you for finding a way to sneak Jake's shorts into his costume. Too bad there're no pistol-sized crossbows he can dual-wield. Can't decide whether my favorite is Jane or Dirk, though.

One of the research-pictures I found online of a Page included a tunic and shorts, so I thought "Hey, Jake!" and ran with it.

I thought of the pistol-crossbows too. You could probably sort of get away with that considering the fantasy AU nature of this whole thing - I just went with the more traditional large crossbow for this image. If they were pistows, though, I'd split the Hope symbol in half so that you have one stylized wing on each pistow.

Jane, Dirk, and Roxy turned out best in this set. A lot just went wrong with Jake as I drew him, and I haven't enough patience at the moment to fix any of it. XD

Jane or Dirk...which one would you be happiest cosplaying? We could put the question that way if it helps.

Heh, one of the most maddening things of the Victorianstuck AU my friend and I are working on, besides working out the actual plot and story, is the clothing. Oh dear goodness, it's causing problems. I'm probably going to stare at Jeremy Brett episodes of Sherlock Holmes for ideas, take a bunch of screenshots, that kind of thing.

I think the main problem with Jake is his face looks a bit off. It seems a bit too small for his head.

I think it is a testament to your ability to design characters that that is seriously a difficult decision. Usually I avoid anything remotely dress-like, but I wouldn't mind walking around in that maid outfit. But they both look great and I can't decide.

Google also works. XD If you're prepared/willing to spend some time in a store that carries patterns or pattern books, you could dig through the historical/Halloween costume section. They usually have one or two pages of Victorian-era stuffs.

I figure his legs/feet are also off. As are his hands. And, well, just about everything. :/

I avoid skirts too, and honestly, I could almost maybe wear that maid costume as well. Except the neckline's too low for my tastes. Which means if I dressed up as a Medievalstuck Maid, it'd be Aradia, as I have her all sketched out as well. :3

It'll probably be a while before I draw her properly. Maybe. I don't know; I'm so pleased with her and with Karkat, I might just forge on ahead and draw out the four trolls I've sketched so far. Tomorrow.

yes, there is that. I might convince my mom to let me browse sometime.

That vest looks really pretty, though. It's totally worth the neckline and the skirt. I used to be super modest about necklines, but I'm pretty much not anymore.

I look forward to seeing them!

The vest is something I'm proud of drawing, though I pity anyone who actually tries to make it via embroidery. Even painting the stuff onto cloth could be a pain. XP
