DO NIT CLICK THIS LINK! It leads to a dangerous website. I tried and my internet safety software blocked it. Be carefull out there my friends, all it takes is one click!
On a more positive note, I like your drawing, it's funny. I like the houses you've sorted them in too, even though they all fit in more then one house but it's all good! After all, the more complex and relatable the characters, the better the story right? Have a nice day!

XD Instant crossover idea: someone got Jack too much butterbeer and he's flying around belting out 'Let it Go' at the top of his lungs. BEST. IDEA. EVER!!!

Unfortunately, butterbeer is nonalcoholic. Only house elves get drunk on the stuff. You could possibly slip him some Firewhisky instead, but that could be overkill...

Because cold and wind can do that to an exposed face. It is also somewhat likely that I went just a little further than necessary in trying to achieve that effect, so contribute it to a combination of artist error and setting effect. Thanks!

Great choices for which person goes to which House! I mean, Merida is obviously the courageous one (they're all courageous but given her movie is called "Brave" ...). Rapunzel definitely has all the attributes of Hufflepuff: honesty, friendly, loyal, hard-working. Hiccup sees things from a very logical point of view, and he of course values wit. And Jack, I would definitely call him clever and cunning (as is necessary for being the spirit of fun and a "bit" of a trickster), and he's always seemed to care more about his own agenda than those of others (he only really got on board with the Guardians when he realized it was in his favor, though this isn't a bad thing). He's also rather hard-working at what he does, like most Slytherins, but I'm not sure if I'd call him ambitious. I do love all of these characters very much, and I think the placement is perfect.

He's human in this 'verse, just one of those people with a weirdly high tolerance for cold weather. You know the sorts. It's forty degrees out as a high and they're walking around in shorts and flip-flops. XP

I agree in regards to the houses. In fact, I'm beginning to wonder if we're also misplacing Merida and Jack as a whole, mostly based on the fact that Slytherins, according to the Hat, are "cunning folk" whoΒ "use any means to achieve their ends." A Slytherin Jack would therefore have most likely taken Pitch up on his offer (perhaps evenΒ with theΒ intentΒ to double-cross him in the end?) in order to fulfill his ambition to be believed in and seen. Instead, he turned him down point-blank, turned his back on him, and started walking awayΒ (only to then surrenderΒ what he thought was his only means of power to save Baby Tooth - hardly a cunning move, but certainly a brave and chivalrous one).Β Meanwhile, Merida cunninglyΒ set up the suitor's contest so that she could crash it on a technicality of rules, win,Β and get what she wanted (which was out of the marriage thing), and that's not even mentioning buying a spell to force her mother to change. Sure, she learned to regret it in the end, but she didn't have any qualms initially.
Β
A Slytherin who is courageous when it gets down to the wire and a Gryffindor with a deep personalΒ desire. That's not really such an impossible thing, and I'm really considering drawing these guys in that arrangement.
Β
Sorry for chatting your ear off! It's been on my mind for a while.

Don't ever hesitate about Merida's place in Gryffindor. The movie she's in is called Brave, and gryffindor is about bravery.

Oreramar In reply to SammyDrawing [2014-04-05 16:34:00 +0000 UTC]
But the movie title really isn't everything. Merida did act with a great deal of ambition and cunning as well as courage - her actions in the film were pretty well split between Slytherin and Gryffindor. I think, though, that if it came down to a choice between the two - and the hat does take choice into account - she'd request Gryffindor. But so would Hiccup, to better live up to his dad. And Jack's way, way more a Gryffindor than a Slytherin, to a greater degree than Merida, so it makes no sense to put him in that house. In the end the Big Four realistically wouldn't be sorted to four different houses. More likely three would be Gryffindors by choice at least (with, of course, their varied other-house traits as any human being would have them), with Rapunzel likely happy wherever the hat put her.

(laughs) I'm Rapunzel in this picture. Meanwhile, Jack is one of my sister's friends who, apparently, wore a light jacket all year, even when everyone else was bundled up in as many layers as possible. If it was really, really, really, really cold, however... he'd put on gloves. :I Jack, you are not alone, and have a more legitimate reason than some!

I'm with Rapunzel as well! Once the temperature drops anywhere near freezing, the only skin you're going to see on me is around my eyes, and even that I'll cover if I've a second scarf loosely-knit enough to allow some vision. XD
Some people are nuts like that. I've seen people walk around in shorts and flipflops...well, not once it actually froze, but not too far above that. Mid to late fall weather, you might call it.

I really dont understand why Jack is slythern, I think he should be huffenpuff (blue, Im no harry potter fanatic, so I go by color) or something
π: 0 β©: 1
Oreramar In reply to GhostGirl58 [2013-06-14 17:12:19 +0000 UTC]
Going by color, he'd be in Ravenclaw (blue) since Hufflepuff is yellow. Going by trait, however...Ravenclaw is the house of knowledge, wit, and wisdom. Hufflepuff values loyalty, equality, and hard work. Gryffindor (red) is the house of the brave and chivalrous, and Slytherin (green) is for ambition and cunning.
Jack's a bit of a hard fit, true. He could probably be in Gryffindor for his bravery, but Slytherin works when you consider how he was driven by his ambition, his need, to be believed in.
Admittedly, he and Merida could easily flop houses, though such doesn't occur to most because Merdia's movie is called "Brave," which instantly shuts her into Gryffindor in most minds.

GhostGirl58 In reply to Oreramar [2013-06-14 17:19:46 +0000 UTC]
Well, by that, it makes scence, but couldn't he be put into Ravenclaw as he has 100 years of knowledge, wisdom, and quite frankly, he has wit (wit is intelligent humor, and he has the humor down to a second nature o.o) So that is what Im confused on. (And thanks, for explaining it)
π: 0 β©: 1
Oreramar In reply to GhostGirl58 [2013-06-14 17:28:55 +0000 UTC]
Wit is also "understanding, intelligence, or sagacity," and this is probably the kind of wit that Ravenclaw refers to, since Ravenclaws don't seem to tend to be witty. And yes, Jack's not stupid and he's been around for a while, but is knowledge really the thing that drives him, the thing he reaches for the most? As Dumbledore said, it's one's choices, not one's abilities, that makes one who they are, and the Sorting Hat seems to take that into account.
As such, thinking on it more and more, in the future I might swap Merida and Jack's houses. Jack can be brave and chivalrous, concerned with what is right over what is easy, since he shut Pitch's offer down flat (a true Slytherin probably would have taken it - "these cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends"), whereas Merida spent the first half of her film mostly concerned with her own wants and ambitions and was willing to do anything - humiliate the Lords, enchant her mother - to get her way. A bit more Slytherin, that.
Even then, though, Jack would be in red instead of blue.

This is awesome! It actually made me laugh. And this is going to sound weird, but I love Jack's hair in this picture. It just looks so fluffy XD!!!!!!
And one other thing, and I'm sure you've heard this before but I'm saying it anyways, I am so happy that you put Hiccup in Ravenclaw!! I think that his brains and skills way overshadow the loyalty thing. And no offense to Rapunzel, but she didn't strike me as that bright......plus she was loyal to Flynn/Eugene, willing to give up her own freedom to protect him.
