Of course he can do some major damage, because he is one of the 500 dwarves that Dain II Ironfoot brought with him to the Battle of the Five Armies (in the book). And, according to Mr Tolkien "The dwarves are exceedingly strong for their height, but most of these were strong even for dwarves."

I don't know the word in english, but it was quite common in the iberian peninsula for a time the "hazada de batalla", some sort of battlehoe, as well. :3
