With the weird weather last year, early warm spring then winter again after the buds had started, we got nothing. It made it that much sweeter to see this year.Related content

Weird weather on my end of the globe last year somehow forced my Magnolia to flower twice in the same year. I sure wasn't complaining, it's the only time I've seen it do that. The second batch of flowers came in mid-summer after the tree was damaged by a week's worth of incredibly hot weather even by our standards, many of the leaves went all crispy and brown and fell off from the heat (after all, magnolia's are cool-climate plants who in their ideal environment would never see a day even close to 40 Celsius
