Orchis grenouille or frog orchid in English
Dactylorhiza viridis
Sometimes known as Coeloglossum viride
Under either name, the species has a wide distribution across the cooler parts of the Northern Hemisphere, but it is never abondant and even quite rare.
This one, 15 cm tall, was spotted at 1100 m altitude in the French Alps.
