Description I haven’t uploaded in sometime, and the reason is I’m dying. But turns out I still have some time left and I choose to finish one of my sketches before I go. Here’s the Digidestined and Tamers as the Greek Gods. Each one was given the role of a deity that matches one of child’s main characteristics.

DIGIDESTINED as the TITANS

TAI – Uranus, Titan of the heavens; first king of the Titans. He’s usually portrayed naked, but I gave him a robe representing his rule over the entire cosmos. Some say he’s actually a primeval god that predated the Titans but I read he was one himself. Uranus hid the youngest of his children, including Cronus (Davis), in Tartarus so that they would not see the light, rejoicing in this evil doing. This caused pain to Gaia (Mother of the Titans), so she created a great sickle/scythe. Only Cronus, the boldest, was willing to strike at his father so Gaia gave him the sickle/scythe. Cronus ambushed his father and castrated him (Ouch! Poor Tai, must have hurt like hell). Later, he either died or was casted into Tartarus.

SORA – Rhea, Titaness of female fertility, motherhood, and generation. Mother of the Olympians and sister/consort of Cronus (Davis). She would give birth to Zeus (Takato) and hide him from his father until he grew up. Rhea was one of the few Titans who weren’t banished to Tartarus after the Titan War.

MATT – Helios, Titan of the Sun and guardian of oaths. He, along with Selene and Eos, was son of Hyperion (TK) and Theia (Kari). He is many times confounded with Apollo (Henry).

IZZY – Coeus, Titan of knowledge, wisdom, far sight and north. He represents the celestial axis around which the heavens revolve. Along with most the other Titans, Coeus was overthrown by Zeus (Takato) and other Olympians. After the Titan War, he and all his brothers were banished into Tartarus by Zeus.

JOE – Oceanus, Titan of Oceans, rivers, lakes and all water in the world. In ancient Greek beliefs, Oceanus is often depicted as having the upper body of a man with two crab pincers for horns and the lower torso of a sea serpent. Oceanus, along with Prometheus (Willis) and Themis (Cody), did not take the side of his fellow Titans against the Olympians, but instead withdrew from the conflict.

MIMI – Clymene, Titaness of renown, fame, and infamy. She was also known as Asia. Very little is known about Clymene since her name was also used to depict several other Greek mythological characters.

DAVIS – Cronus, second King of the Titans and mate of Rhea (Sora). Not to be confused with Chronos, the god of time. After Cronus castrated Uranus (I doubt Davis would ever do this to his role-model), he took over his place as rulers of the Universe. His first act was to re-imprison his siblings back into Tartarus. His weapon was either a scythe or a sickle but I gave him both. Before Uranus died(?) he prophesized that one of Cronus’ children would overthrow him as he had done to his father. So whenever Rhea gave birth to a child, he would swallow the baby whole. This continued until a fed up Rhea hides her newest son, Zeus (Takato), and gives Cronus a rock in a blanket. Fooled, the Titan swallowed the rock but had some indigestion and vomited everything in his stomach: first the rock and then his children. He was eventually dethroned by his sons and daughters would become the Gods of Olympus. In the artwork, Davis is looking at Tai, waiting for the best oppoetunity to castrate him.

CODY – Themis, Titaness of divine law and order. Themis means "divine law" rather than “human ordinance”, literally "that which is put in place”. Themis is actually a female Titan. But in my country’s version of Digimon 02, Cody is a girl. However, I do realize Cody is a guy but I couldn’t find a Titan that could fit him so perfectly like this.

YOLEI – Asteria, Titaness of nocturnal oracles and falling stars. This is probably the most unfitting Titan. I couldn’t find a more suitable candidate to be Yolei. The deity Aether was fine but she’s not a Titan.

TK – Hyperion, Titan of light and east. Brother of Cronus (Davis) and father of Helios (Matt). It is possible Hyperion sided with his brother in the Titan War and was banished to Tartarus along with him.

KARI – Theia, Titaness of sight and the shining light of the clear blue sky. Also known as Euryphaessa. She was consort of Hyperion (TK) and mother of Helios (Matt). She was casted into Tartarus along with her fellow Titans by the Olympians.

KEN – Astraeus, Titan of the dusk, stars, planets, and the art of astrology. Also spelled Astraios, it’s unknown which side he fought in the Titan war, or even if he fought at all. His hand holds the Antikythera mechanism, an ancient Greek analog computer designed to calculate astronomical positions. His body was marked with the symbols of the Greek Zodiac.

WILLIS – Prometheus, Titan of forethought and crafty counsel, and creator of mankind. Like Prometheus carved the human from clay, Willis created Diaboromon’s digi-egg. Willis’ design was made up in a hurry so sorry. He stole fire from Olympus and gave it to humanity which enabled enlightenment and evolution of civilization. An angered Zeus (Takato), took the fire from the humans and chained the immortal Prometheus to a rock, where each day an eagle, the emblem of Zeus, was sent to feed on his liver, which would then grow back to be eaten again the next day. In some stories, Prometheus is freed at last by the hero Hercules.

TAMERS as the OLYMPIANS

TAKATO – Zeus, King of the gods, the ruler of Mount Olympus, God of the sky, thunder, lightning and supreme rulers of the Universe. He is the youngest son of Cronus (Davis) and Rhea (Sora) and brother of Hades (Ryo) and Poseidon (Kenta). He overthrew Cronus and gained the sovereignty of the cosmos for himself. While brother and married to Hera (Jeri), he was unfaithful and often raped/copulated with many other goddesses and sometimes even mortal women, which resulted in many heroic offspring, such as Hercules.

HENRY – Apollo, God of light, sun, music, poetry, arts, knowledge, healing, prophecy, athletism, manly beauty and enlightenment. Often confounded with the Titan Helios (Matt), he’s one of the most important gods of Olympus. He was a prophetic deity and leader of the Muses; he was the patron of music and poetry. He was also known a god-protector from evil.

RIKA – Athena, Goddess of wise warfare, just warfare, battle strategy, courage, inspiration, civilization, strength and skill. She’s the patron goddess of Athens. In her hand, she has Glaucus, the owl of knowledge, along with her shield and spear. Unlike Ares, she only fights a war when it’s necessary and never rejoices in the idea of a one-sided slaughter. The owl was supposed to be theme like Renamon, but that was the best I could do.

RYO – Hades, God of the dead and mineral riches, king of the Underworld and brother of Zeus and Poseidon. He resides mostly in the underworld as Ryo spent most of his adventures in the Digital World. The helmet, pitchfork and Cerberus were his most notable symbols. I intended to draw a three headed quadruped Cyberdramon but there was no time. Notice that I’ve used the Disney Hades design, except for the fire air. Hades element was mostly minerals, not fire.

JERI – Hera, Goddess of marriage, women and childbirth. Queen of the Heavens and consort of Zeus (Takato). The peacock, one of her symbols is in this case Jeri’s puppet. On the other hand, she holds the pomegranate symbolizing fertility. Jealous and vengeful, she constantly strikes at the many of Zeus’ mistresses and their offspring. Don’t mess with this sister!

KENTA – Poseidon, God of the sea, rivers, floods, droughts, earthquakes, storms, and the creator of horses. Also known as ‘The Earth-Shaker’, he’s brother to Hades (Ryo) and Zeus (Takato). As for a weapon, he holds the trident and has ruled the oceans since Oceanus (Joe).

KAZU – Dionysus, God of wine, parties and festivals, orgies, madness, chaos, drunkenness, drugs, and ecstasy. This explains it all though don’t get any idea that I see Kazu as a junkie, ok.

ALICE – Hecate, Demi-goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts, and necromancy. Older than the Olympians, she’s a good friend of Hades (Ryo) as dwells for sometimes in the Underworld. Alice’s design was also added at the last minute.

SUZIE – Hebe, Goddess of eternal youth ad cupbearer of the gods. She is the daughter of Zeus (Takato) and Hera (Jeri). Hebe was the cupbearer for the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus, serving their nectar and ambrosia which gave them immortality.

AI – Hestia, Goddess of the hearth, home and chastity. She was the virgin sister of Hera (Jeri) and Zeus (Takato), housekeeper of the Olympus and prepared the meals out of the sacrifices humans tributed.

MAKO – Hermes, God of commerce, thieves, travelers and border crossings. Fast and cunning, he was the guider of souls to the entrance of the Underworld and messenger of Gods.

Actually some myths depict Hyperion being around prior to Apollo being born.

As a huge Digimon and Greek Mythology nerd, I just have to say that this is magnificent, especially the the humor in your writing. And thank you very much for the mental imagery of Davis cutting off Tai's hairless ball sack with a goddamn scythe. Gonna need some rum to clear that up. Speaking of booze, I totally get how you could connect Kazu and Dionysus. Out of all the Tamers, Kazu is the one I could see getting sand-blasted drunk at a party.
