Description Hahaha, I don't know where to put this. XDDD;;;;

Our final assignment in BIO200 Animal Anatomy was to take a cartoon character and, with our knowledge of human and animal anatomy(!), drop a skeleton into it.

I've always like Kabutops. It was the first Pokemon I thought was utterly cool.

To be honest, since Kabutops and Kabuto are based off the horseshoe crab, Kabutops technically would have an exoskeleton. However, it's skeleton is displayed in the Pokemon museums. So I figured that it has a skeleton as a base and then it's skin is an exoskeleton/hardened surface lol.

Kabutops actually DOES have a skeleton, as shown in the anime

I know that, in the canon, Kabutops has a skeleton, but I still think it's rubbish. It's an arthropod, so the brown exterior is its exoskeleton, not muscle or skin. It has no need for ribs when it has a segmented body.

its the pokemon universe
there are dragons
gods
genetically modified gods
humonculi

i think the least of the problems is that a bug has another skeleton.

Clever, but in one of the games (Maybe HG/SS I think... or B/W) it shows the whole of Kabutops' head being bone doesnt it..?

Did I say it was offensive? No. You didn't bother to read descriptions, and from experience it's extremely vexing to have to explain things to people who lack the capacity to absorb the information made available to them before asking questions. You make of yourself a burden and a fool.

lol.

BIO200? Hah, I barely passed BIO150. Maybe in a couple of years I'll be able to draw animal anatomy somewhat correctly, but I'm not holding my breath. :x

A Kabutops skeleton, eh? Reminds me of when I first saw it as the avatar for the Missingno. Pokemon. Those old games were so needlessly creepy sometimes. :P Aerodactyl was always my favorite fossil Pokemon, even if its moveset was crap and it took hits like a wet paper bag. But passing over that, it was a flying rock dinosaur, which defied all laws of physics and therefore was awesome. Its skeleton didn't look nearly as creepy though, which is disappointing.

So, how long did this one take you to complete?

OrientalisDraco In reply to Ryuura [2009-07-24 19:14:42 +0000 UTC]

Animal anatomy's basically like human anatomy, but with certain modifications of course. If you know your human anatomy, animal anatomy's not too difficult.

Whenever I ran into Missingno., it'd always look like some Tetris block thing. =\ And it would evolve into Rhydon.

I would say this took about 5-6 hours over the course of two days. I was juggling this, my mythological creature, and Kmiec's final. I CAN WORK FAST IT'S JUST I'M LAZY AND FIND IT HARD TO GET STARTED. :C

Ryuura In reply to OrientalisDraco [2009-07-25 05:44:03 +0000 UTC]

Which I can't do either, so I stand by what I said before.

Oh right, the backwards L Missingno. It's form would depend on your in-game name, actually. You could get that one, the Kabutops skeleton, the Aerodactyl skeleton or the ghost missingno. I always seemed to catch the 'm' Pokemon, which looked just like the backwards L missingno. except it would fuck up all of the graphics. Ironically, 'm' is the true #00 Pokemon in RBGY. God I love those games. I can't wait to play my old N64 again, though I have gotten pretty good at using rentals on my Stadium rom.

Hurrr, 5-6 hours? Really? This is coming from the same girl who claimed she couldn't concentrate on any one piece for too long? Hmm, I can't believe I never saw you at all, even though we both took summer classes at DIT. You're avoiding me, aren't you? >.> And no need to shout, I know you can work fast, as you've proven it over and over again. I'm the one who can't work quickly enough. :c

OrientalisDraco In reply to Ryuura [2009-07-25 18:47:33 +0000 UTC]

While I was doing this assignment, I was like "...I want to play Pokemon again XD." So I downloaded a Pokemon Platinum ROM, slapped on my CycloDS card, and began playing. XDDD;;

I STILL CAN'T CONCENTRATE ON ONE PIECE TOO LONG. Which was really killing me for the Alien Interloper final because we did thumbnails and value studies (or silhouettes) for one week and then colour comps and the painting (or concepts and turnarounds) the next. It was such a relief to get to the painting; I cranked that out in one day. And then after the in-class critique the next day, noodled with it for two days (with copious amounts of my mind wandering elsewhere), before I just got tired of it and sent it off. We had two weeks for the final, but I probably spent around 4-5 days doing everything: one day for thumbs and value comps, one day for colour comps, one day painting, and then two days just messing around fixing stuff.

Wait, what? You took summer classes? Well, I probably know the reason why you never saw me. I spent almost all my time in Reynaud, where I had CG201 and CG225 and where they have the nicer Intuos3 tablets (BIO200 was in Gibran, which is like six steps away from Reynaud). I did drop by Rossano's Tues. class for life drawing the first couple of weeks, but then stopped because of the workload. I would have loved to have gone to the life drawing sessions but I couldn't find the time.

A what now? But I felt the same way during my class too. I even dug out my old pokemon red cartridge from within my bag of games and started playing that. C:

Oh gods, I know what you mean! I hate, hate, hate, -hate- spending so long doing thumbnails, and comps, and color roughs, before I can actually work on the final. And I couldn't even get them critiqued because I spent most of my time at home suffering from a combination of allergy attacks and the heat... damnit, I didn't think Washington of all places would hit temperatures in the 90s. DX

Such a studious girl, you are. Yes, I was trying to get my Art125 credits since I wasn't able to take it before. I'm still such a terribly slow worker, and I get distracted easily. I'm such a bad artist, I am.
