On the 3rd of May it will be my birthday. It will also be the 2nd year anniversary of my friends brother, Craigs, death. He was killed outright in a motorcycle accident.

I grew up with Tina and her family from about 16. We met because I was staying in a friends house who ran a nursing home. She enabled me to "live" there by doing sleep and watch which basically meant I went to bed and if the staff needed any help then they woke me. This was so I could get paid and still get my rest. (this was because things were so bad at home). This is where Tina worked and we became friends. Tinas mum (Lyn) treated and still does treat me like her daughter. I see her in the street and she "makes" me hug and kiss her and always asks about me. Anyway Tina and I grew up together and had fun. She had an elder sister Kerry, a younger brother Craig and then a youngest sister Lindsey. I was with her the night I met Keith. We drifited apart as we settled down with families but we always kept in touch. Something she said the other day was that she was always touched that I always sent xmas cards to them all. I also met Sara through Tina too.

Anyway 2 years ago on 29 April I flew to USA with my 2 children to spend my 30th birthday with my "sis". I got home on the Thursday and the following Saturday (around the 10th May) was Stevens First Holy Communion. We had a lovely day and was exhausted and that night sat on the sofa, picked up the local paper and got the shock of my life. Tinas brother had been killed in a motorcycle accident the week before and this was Lyn thanking the huge turnout for the funeral. I was stunned. I was so shocked I told Keith and came upstairs and literally broke my heart crying. After that I was silent for a long time because I was in shock. Keith still says to this day he has never seen me so quiet. My heart broke knowing the pain that Lyn and the family would be going through.

On the Monday I ran down the store and bought a card to send to Lyn. I needed to see her but didnt want to impose so thought the card was best.

A few days later I was visiting my mum in hospital and she told me my Nan had colon cancer. Tina was very close to my Nan too. Anyway on the way home I decided to get off the bus to get her a card...and realised I needed to go to the cashpoint. So I got off a bus stop I never get off and who should be at the cashpoint but Lyn and Tina. I ran over and through my arms around them both and they thanked me for rthe card.....and somehow I landed up telling Tina that I would be going out the following weekend and she was very welcome to come. She said yes and her and Sara came on a night out. It reunited us and since then the 3 of us plus Lyn and the girls have been close.

The song reference is the song I heard all the time in America and even now it just reminds me of Craig.
