It wasn't working. The interface for the nightmare catcher just wouldn't stabilize no matter which runes he used. The simulator model had worked perfectly. There had to be a variable he wasn't catching, some difference that was causing different results. Perhaps he had not calculated everything. Integrating real world data into theoretical models was always tricky.Loki rubbed a hand over his face, closing his eyes for a moment. He was tired. He'd been bouncing between working on new wards for his home and this project and Jarvis was about to shut him down due to the Insomnia Protocols. Loki could go home, to the apartment that he knew wasn't adequately protected, but he just couldn't make himself do it.
Shuffling sleepily, he had the Tower AI dim the lights in his office and Loki stretched out on the long gray couch there, pulling Dobbit onto his chest, where he settled immediately.
Just a quick nap. Then he'd get back to it. It couldn't wait.
