Mooie en goede foto! De zwart/wit conversie is ook een goede keuze. Ik vind de expressie van hun gezichten echt geweldig. Kortom een geweldige foto!!

It cant be Winters. He never lost his leg in battle and he retired as a Major. The rank the soldier in the picture is wearing is Staff Sergeant. Far lower in rank then Major.

Old people are the best models since they never try to do some crappy pose - they look really natural. You can feel the things they've seen during decades just from their wrinkles. This is a superb shot with a strong heroic atmosphere. I like how the rows of the crosses goe way back to the distance describing the huge amount of people who lost their lives during war. How many of them were friends of these two men, i don't even want to know...

Amazing work.

what an emotional, telling photo....too often people treat these veterans as nothing more then a photo opportunity, an interesting little nugget to hang on the wall or post online; but to them they're there to remember an old friend and honor his memory. I think you're photo respects their space, while at the same time showing a powerful story.

Wonderfully well deserving of a DD.

Excellent tones, composition and contrast. I love the lines that your lens (10-22 or 17-40?) introduced by being so wide.

And the subject matter? Stunning.

I can say to the subjects - "Thank you, gentlemen."
