Description
You know, there are days where I swear that I'm a complete idiot. I'm behind on commission work, gearing up to get The Kinniku Kiss going again in late spring/early summer, pushing to get more writing and more projects going. So of course I decide to whip up a new picture when I already have a full lineup of projects in need of being attended to. Am I really that easily distracted?!
Welll...partly yes. But there is a reason for this picture's existence. A couple reasons, actually.
The idea for this pic came as a result of me poking around in Pokkuti 's galleryΒ (I'm sure at least most of you are familiar with his comic series Magic Muscle, which is based on the anime/manga Fairy Tail). And I noticed that he'd been commissioned to whip up another comic FMG sequence, this time featuring characters from My Hero Academia. Tsuyu Asui is given some cake by her friends that have some...noticeable side effects. But...well, if I'm being honest, I felt like Tsu didn't get big enough, so I decided to have some fun. But more importantly, I decided to do some more experimenting.
See, for me, lineart is the most painful part of drawing any given picture. It's extremely time consuming, especially in the case of detail intense characters. And that naturally includes muscular characters. The truth is that I simply cannot draw smooth lines to save my life; my lineart tends to wiggle and wobble no matter how hard I try to stop it, so I wind up spend many long hours trying to get it down just right. I obsess over making things look as close to perfect as I possibly can. But...well, then I found myself wondering if my perfectionism was sabotaging my own productivity. I wanted to see if I could find a way of drawing pics that was faster but didn't sacrifice quality for efficiency. And this pic is the result. So...what do you all think?

An artist once told me that zooming out makes strokes less wriggly. Don't know your drawing process, but maybe that could help?
