Description Yes, I finished the model... and for the first time after sculpting something, I really like how it came out!
Now I just need to give him a little bit color- and I fear that I might do that wrong... has someone a few good tips for me for coloring that model? Should I color the scales individually for example?

Here you can see the wire frame I used: [link]

I'm also finished with the painting right now- it also has gone quite good.. I will upload some photos of it soon

OOOOOH SO pretty!!!

Advice about painting: some people say start with a lighter color first, but if you're using opaque colors, I'd start with a darker one, or the midtone. Fill in everything with the darkest color, then you can paint in highlights, so you don't have to worry about trying to paint into all those tiny crevices once you've already painted the scales.

Check out this Flickr set of photos of a sculpture... some of the comments are pretty useful in telling how he painted it. [link] Painting was done by Howard Tayler.

Nice work!
His heads neat.
I'm not sure about painting myself, so sadly I can't give you any advice... but good luck!

Thanks! Yeah, I also like the head- Normally I don't manage to sculpt what I want, but the head is this time pretty close to what I actually wanted
I'm finished whit the painting right now and think it came out pretty good- much better than my other model!

It is much better than your other model, I bet with Super Sculpey you could produce even better results since you won't need to rush.

Maybe, but I fear I'm not as patience as you for example- I just can't imagine to work more than three days on it

Sieht gut aus ^^

Wüsste jetzt aber auch nicht genau was für Farben du nehmen könntest.....
Vllt das du dich so an Dunkelkirschrot hältst? ^^

OrmIrian In reply to Kronnoss [2009-09-23 17:05:42 +0000 UTC]

Danke
