Description Tall grass swishing with his strides, he can't help but wonder if the burden he feels in each step is because of the thickness of the grass or the remaining fatigue from being bedridden. Breathing a bit harsher than reasonable, he raises a hand and wheezes out a soft plea for his friends to stop and let him catch up. "Wh-wait...!" He laughs breathily, stumbling a little and finding a steady hand on his non-injured shoulder. Looking around at his small group, he scans each of their faces with a weary version of his signature smile. "You didn't even bother to say goodbye?" He laughs, but it turns into a rough cough, causing everyone except Audune to wince. Stiffening her stance, Audune's uncharacteristic slanting frown wobbles and she quickly turns away so that Ford can't see her expression.

"Y-You knew we were leaving?" Midas blurts unceremoniously.

The dim light in Ford's eyes flickers out, heart murmuring apprehensively. "...I...Er, I figured they were just- just pulling my leg. About you all leaving, I mean." Clearing his throat with a quiet and gravelly noise, he looks around at each of their faces.

The confidence that usually radiates off of Midas is gone, Ken's typically thin lipped neutral frown is crooked and sad. They both glance away, but Audune finally turns on her heel...sporting a soft glare, but a glare none the less. "I wanted us to slip away quietly...didn't want to make it difficult." She grumbles, on the edge of whispering. Ford can feel something in his heart break at the confused, conflicted rolling waves of emotion in her eyes. "We think we ought to continue in separate groups."

Somewhere among the deathly silence, Ford finds himself dazedly stuttering out, "Different groups? Yo...u're all I have. What other group?" Breath hitching painfully, Ford ignores the ache in his neck and chest, as well as the prick in his eyes. Hands moving on their own, he grips Audune's shoulders tremblingly.

Almost immediately, she jolts back and shakes his considerably weakened grip off, glaring harder to ignore the tears in her own eyes. "Maybe we'll reconvene when you're in order again. We-" She emphasizes in a way that Ford feels isolated. "...Have different priorities. And it's obvious." Finally breaking eye contact with him, her gaze shifts to the pinking sunset just over the hill, arms folding uncomfortably. "Goodbye, Ford."

The other two linger for a few moments longer before the sound of footsteps multiply and the three gradually disappear. Ford waits until the grass turns from gold to silver before finally breaking from the spot he'd been rooted to, settling back into bed with the knowledge that he's essentially alone once again.
