This is how I make my avi's
at least the pixel ones. It's all done in MS Paint. Screen caps were taken via PSP8. Also I save as JPEG or use the transparency tool in PSP. Otherwise it's all just MS Paint.These are also general guidelines, so feel free to use whatever part you'd like and tweak anything you wish. If you're not comfortable drawing an image to a scale of 50 x 50 pixels, feel free to draw it larger, then resize if you need, or color and then resize. Whatever works for you.

* References were used to draw the avi. Just look up Ixion and you'll find a few.

its easier to go to "view" then "zoom" then "coustom" then like 800 is best.

I'm sure this may depend on how large you have the image. I feel like for an avatar, as small as it is, it's not necessary to zoom in too incredibly far. At this point though, I have Windows 7, so the features are rather different.

yeah that makes sense. it works better for me to zoom in as far as i can cause doubling the size on my computer is still pretty small.

wow! this is truely amazing. you have no idea how greatful i am that you made this. and you made it in MS paint too, which i think is so much harder than photoshop! thanks, it will help soooo much!

wow i have to try this out! ou make it look so easy, i'll probably learn an important lesson on how anything tha sworth doing is difficult, but at this point in time i'm hoping its wrong!

well I wouldn't necessarily say difficult, so long as you have patience and the will to do it.
No one starts out great, but with practice, everyone gets better :3

I've added this to my favorites so I can bring it out to use as a referance. My sprites always lack shading, well my bigger ones, and this why, I don't use enough colors. I think I'm going to go back and redo a few o' mine and then make a better Venus fly trap pokemon then what's official, oh my gosh, it scares me... o.o
