Description This is a waterfall in the mountains where my parents live. I took it in the early afternoon, so the light is not that "soft" as I like it normally. I added very few soft-focus, I hope you enjoy.

Even if it isn't as soft as you like, I still like it. I really like how detailed the grass looks and the contrast of the water against it.

It looks like it was a pretty bright day; how did you keep the picture from being washed out with the longer shutter time? Did you use a filter?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Osiris81 In reply to kjcreations [2008-04-02 21:37:25 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I used a gray filter (1000x)

Oh, I'd love to hike or climb near that waterfall! The green hills on top look like they're gently rolling, but I suppose it's just a thin cover of moss on the rough rocks. And I love the effect on the water... I suppose you used a filter to get a 4 seconds shutter speed?

Do you have to take a bunch of shots at different exposures before you find the one that makes it look like this? or do you just like, know from ninja skill or something?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Osiris81 In reply to tay-kewl [2007-07-17 06:19:16 +0000 UTC]

I tried different exposures, but I'm not that flexible, because I have only a 1000x gray filter.
