I think the evidence of a beak of some sort seems to be pretty solid. Even just looking at the skull the similarities with ceratopsians are obvious, and the foramina in the bone apparently match that of turtle jaws. So keratinous beak seems at least probable. Though if there is a chance it was something else, I'd love to know.

I wish synapsids were as media-sexy as dinosaurs. They're really quite interesting, but don't get the attention they deserve. Maybe they'd need their own "Permian Park" or something.
