Duotone is easy. First, go Image->Mode-> Gray Scale. Once the image converts, go Image->Mode->Duotone. There is a small drop down menu that will let you pick from monotone, duotone or tritone. Be sure duo is selected. Click on the second color to pull up a lot of palettes for like a million different colors. That is all there is to it.

thanks. that is a photoshop trick using the duotone mode. I really like that look and use it a lot.

There's a lot of blank space on the left there. I really like the porrtrait, but it seems a little heavy on the right.

yeah... i like that look alot. It is a normal setup for me. This shot turned into my business card, though, so te blank space proved useful. My address is there.
