Description (i think) this seriously deserves a drum roll, lots of trumpets, and a violin style introduction...

my very first completely entirely 100% homemade print! tried gettin fancy with some dodging and burning with a little tool i made out of a pencil and some electrical tape but i obviously need some practice with that. all i ended up with was a white splotch. but oh well

[edit: new print. no more white splotch]

completely hand made in my own hand made darkroom. hasselblad 501cm. tri-x 400. somewhere neeear a little village in north-east france called le Cateau.

more to come...

Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooo.

rock oot with yur cock oot, bout time you got your own darkroom ..your only scratching at the surface of what there is to learn in a darkroom, if you can buy micheal langfords darkroom technique book its a bible when it comes to everything darkroom.

the shot looks alittle soft and also needs a higher grade for the print.

osquibb In reply to Tezamistic [2007-04-22 15:08:12 +0000 UTC]

oh okay sweet, yea i'll try to get my hands on that. and yeaa, i saw there were different grades of paper, but i dunnow, plenty of time to experiment and figure it all out. it's seriously so much better than fiddeling around in photoshop, i love it!

you ever shoot medium format? seriously, i think everyone should shoot with a waist-level viewfinder.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tezamistic In reply to osquibb [2007-04-22 21:37:03 +0000 UTC]

yeah i have some medium format stuff in my gallery can you figure out which ones? (it isnt hard check the border)

ilford make variable grade paper so no need to buy different grade paper just use different strengths of magenta/yellow

Wow, goodness, congratulations! It's so good! I miss the darkroom at the highschool, and I don't have permission to use the one in college yet. I want to turn my bathroom in to one... I don't need a bathroom... Wonderful shot!!

well if you're ever near the chicago suburbs this summer, you gotta free pass to use mine (my darkroom, not my toilet. hahaha)

Oh PS welcome back hope your trip was fantabulous...

oh and thanks, yea it really was. i had suuuch an amazing time. except for the gps lady voice in the car. she was so moody! "turn left here! stay on this road!" arrrr!

all be good in la vie of brie?

I had to read the GPS thing a few times to figure out what you were talking about and then when I realized I was a little embarassed... Glad to hear Europe was amazing.

How is my life... the question of the year. The answer is busy, busy, busy (there should be a gazzillion more busy's on that). I have gone to bed at 3:30 am 3 times this week and been up till at least midnight all the rest! This quarter may very well kill me. We have to make two garments a week and make paterns for anywhere from 2-6 others and that is the homework for 2 of my 5 classes. So I am saying goodbye to the pathetic thing I called a social life and planning to take up residence in one of the classrooms at school ( I still haven't figured out how I can shower but that is just a petty detail)...So... ummm... yeah... that is what is going on here. The weather has been a bit dreary too which hasn't helped the feeling of being completely overwhelmed!

OH and PS: I get to go to Disenyland on Sunday for the first time ever... I know this is sort of pathetic and childish of me but I am REALLY excited!
