id say since its sand and he manipulates it, he probally uses a small amount of chakra to make it float on his back a little to take away the weight. and.. he is a ninja his body is hardened by training.. like goku and the turtle shell.

I like that you left the back ground nice and simple too, so as not to distract from the Naruto and the Gaara and still made in pretty. I wish I could do that, I either end up having a background that is very distracting or I have no background at all.

SPOILER!! I cried so much when Gaara died so this was a real beautiful moment for me. Not sure the smile works for him though, i fell for the unemotional Gaara. Although it is a nice pic of my two favourite anime characters. The handshake was so touching wasnt it?
