(Making some change of my previous artwork of Doverny.)

Doverny is an island-country in the North Sea between Great Britain to the west to the Netherlands in the south.

The area now called Doverny was first inhabited by modern humans during the Upper Palaeolithic period, but takes its name from the Doggerii people, a Germanic tribe who settled during the 5th and 6th centuries and assimilated with local Celtic Briton people, who previously named these island based of Common Brittonic name of water (for example dwfr in Middle Welsh, dŵr in modern Modern Welsh). Previously placed under the rule of Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of East Anglia, the island was invaded and placed under Danish rule, even when the western English neighbors were united to form the Kingdom of England.

Between 870 and 1868 the Doverny were part of the Kingdom of Denmark, which led the change of Dovernish culture and language. However, forced conscription of Dovernish people during first and second Schleswig War, as well the legacy of 1848 revolution led to the conflict and armed uprising against the Danish rule, which ended up with establishment of Doverny as independent state.
