I'm from the very southern part of Suomi ♥ So thank god it's not THAT cold.. but it's been snowing whole day *cries* Well, it's not too bad, I have a friend who lives in Oulu and it's, what, -15c there D: *is not very good with cold weather ;u;*

Bad Finns who don't bother talking to our Nordic neighbours! (Well, not really neighbours, but Nordic countries are one big happy squishy family, so in a way, yes... *coughs*)

Little known fact, foreigners outside Scandinavia confuse Icelanders with Finns 'cause of the similarity in languages X'D
So we're closer than Danmörk, Noregur og Svíþjóð think (-w-)b vei~

Similarity? In languages? 8D From what I know, Icelandic = old Norwegian (whereas new Norwegian = old Danish |D I love the languages in Scandinavia) and Finnish = ???. Different from any other Scandinavian language... more like Estonian 8D

I don't know about exciting things... (I haven't been to Moomin world since I was, what, 4?) I watch too little news, but all they've had lately is strike which Finnair's stewardesses held and which was solved on Friday. Not ver interesting :'D To me at least. But if you want to come to Finland, don't worry about not knowing Finnish! Almost all Finnish people know English quite well, and yours seems great to me, so you'd have no problems of communicating. (And if you come near Helsinki, I'd love to show you around!^^ I'm from this city called Espoo.. nothing more than the second biggest city in Finland |D /andIknowalmostnothingaboutit *shot*)
I'd love to visit all Nordic countries ;~; I've been to Sweden few years ago and next summer we're going to Trondheim in Norway since a friend of mine lives there... and MAYBE I could convince my mom to come to Iceland for a few days when we're passing to the US, if we're going the next year. (Also, apparently we've stayed in Denmark for a night when I was less than 6... and I'm supposed to remember? I want to see Copenhagen ;u; )

Why in the name of all gods have I not heard Icelandic before? I'm listening to that first song atm, it sounds so... IDK. Cute. I guess. Also, I agree about the rolling r's now |D I need to search for more Icelandic songs. All I know are these, Eyjan min and Sigur Ros' Hoppipolla (I think it's Icelandic? 8'D *can't even tell*) and I love how all of them sound. I should learn some Scandinavian languages.. but I'm already having Finnish, Swedish, English and I'm taking Japanese and starting Spanish next year if possible... *sigh*

Don't worry about being a mean person inside, me and my friends are both apparently sadistic psychos inside, pretending to be young innocent girls. So yeah. And I would've probably laughed inside if I had been you. (But hey, if he was fat, he's go to do something to get thin... *LOGIC FAILS*)

Sigur Rós is Icelandic, so is "Bjork"(Björk) though I can't recall any songs from her on Icelandic, people tend to mistake her being Swedish |||orz

I love taking every chance learning them~ \(-w-)/ I always feel "closer" to the world that way~ ♥ I got Icelandic, three years of Danish, English, free reading (new)Norwegian & Faroese, I might possibly get Japanese in school next year if they manage to get a teacher but meanwhile I'm studying it via LiveMocha & genkiJapan (-7-)> mjá~
Finnish might be too difficult for me to learn, I did wanna learn Russian (;v;`)

Russian? My friend's taking it, it took her two weeks to learn to write her own name |D It's because of the different alphabet though, so once you learn it it's a piece of cake (who am I to say, I can only say 'I love you' in Russian... and 12 other languages, yaay).
I can help you with Finnish if you start it after all! \o/ Cause I'm a language freak like that... I'd take every language I can if my brain just was able to handle it all. My friend would want Norwegian but I'd prefer Icelandic, we just talked about it today 8D

Do Icelanders have to take Danish like we have to take Swedish in Finland? It's such a bother... I like learning, but not everyone do |D Just because we were ruled by Swedes for about 400 years or so. Yeah.
(Hetalia has taught me more Nordic history than 8 years of history lessons. 'Nuff said.)

I have a good "Sight memory" so learning the Japanese alphabets and some Kanji is okay, though I do agree that Cyrillic is tricky mostly 'cause some of the letters are familiar to roman but I'll learn them
You may teach me some words and/or phrases in nearby future, young one I saw this really adorable fanart of Fin and Sví "teaching" Finnish and Swedish, it was so cuuute~ ♥

Your situation is like here too We do have to learn Danish for at least three or four years and then there is probably some Danish in College, but some colleges you can "change Nordic" language and pick either Norwegian and Swedish instead
I learned all my Nordic history over the dinner table, though Hetalia did teach me something about Finland
