> BUILD } Aris is getting on in years but his swayed back hasn't slowed him down. He's well muscled in the chest and hindquarters with a deep girth. He has the classic long and slender head with a straight profile of most of Proud Birdie's descendants. His shoulder is slightly more upright but he compensates with longer sloping pasterns.
> HISTORY } Born at Lucina Parkway Aris was prized mostly for his color, though his long legs demanded otherwise. He responded well to training and earned respect among his peers and training staff because of his lovely temperament. Due to his near sprinter-esque and classic bloodlines he was initially aimed towards shorter races eventually proving to be more of a miler and setting his career off to a rocky start. In his first race Aris ended up getting jostled down the stretch to finish second in a race he could have easily won had the trip been smoother and the track longer. After his shyness was discovered and handled with, his potential was finally tapped into and he began making a name for himself eventually proving he could run in GI company.
Despite being well mannered on the ground, Aris was incredibly fussy in the gate and disliked trailering. Most likely due to the close quarters, and often times would come out of a race looking like he trekked through a field of thorns. It was never more than surface scratches thankfully and he remained sound through his entire career.
Retired after an undefeated five year old season in three starts, Aris remained at Lucina Parkway until he was sold in 2013 due to downsizing. Muirenn Carver of Iron Horse happily picked him up looking to add a bit of mileage to her lines as well as color.
Since his acquisition, Aris has slowly made a name for himself in the breeding shed, siring multiple graded stakes winners.
> PERSONALITY } Aris is an even tempered, well mannered horse and quite intelligent, though it never stopped him from being fussy during gate loading. He had a nasty habit of dancing in the tight quarters and would often come off the track with small nicks and scratches on his legs and flanks, though he never suffered a serious injury.
He was courteous both on the ground and on the track, and despite bumping himself in the gate, Aris was always careful not to crowd or bump people or other horses. Because of this, Aris could be rather shy on the track, if he couldn't find a safe hole to get through, he'd never engage and challenge and thus required an experience jockey to navigate.
