The image reminded me of State Park up in the Sierra's that has a stand of unique redwoods only found within a very small area. New seedlings as well as some quite old souls; and some that have fallen from storms. The nature trail follows a path that leads under the upturned root system of a giant tree that must have fallen many, many years ago. The tons of earth that were pulled up with it now washed away from winter storms have left the twenty foot high roots clean and exposed much like your picture. Better than any church.

Yes, but I can't go too often. I usually only get to go only once a year.

I'm sorry you don't get to go more often, maybe things will change for you in the future and you can more. I find that some quiet time alone in the mountains, even if it is just part of an afternoon, is good for the soul.
