This is so good it (almost) makes me squeal with delight!
For one I grew up with adventure stories and devoured every book I could get into reach. From the classic Treasure Island to numerous "adventurous journey" stile journals and the likes. Add to that several of the early(-ish) adventure movies with dashing pirates and dastardly colonial troops and you get a kind of Pavlov effect...
Ocean, explorers, adventure, treasure hunting, making a fortune or just forging ahead for dear survival - perfect thrills.
And second I recently dived back into Sea Of Thieves. While it's basically still a grind with the same tasks over and over it seems more alive than shortly after launch and the soundscape is still marvelous. Creaking rigging, sails snapping in the wind, crashing waves...
Your piece pretty much captures all that's so great about these adventure stories:
A tropical coast, roaring waterfalls cutting through green foliage, birds squawking overhead.
A lone explorer, maybe he lost the rest of his expedition to a storm, an ambush or traps along the way?
A cave, the entrance itself looking like a menacing maw...
