Just bought the little guy at the rodent breeder and man is this one a handfull! Not at all like Lenin who behaved 15 minutes after you had him in your hand
Orginal I wanted to name him Gimili but after discovering how stuborn he is i decided to rename him as Thorin both names are Tolkien dwarves! [link]
Wish me luck the guy even tried to bite me twice!

Ahh reminds me of the one I had as a kid. They said it was a girl so we named it " Dotty". Sadly Dotty passed away after about a year. Then we decided to get two more and found out that Dotty had been a boy. He tried to bight me several times too. Was an excellent escape artist(loved climbing rings to get out) and he used to fall asleep on my shoulder when watching tv. As for the two girls we got. They lasted about a month and then we gave them away. They were messy and loud (loved to chew on there cage). So best of luck with Thorin!!!!! I got that same look from Dotty.

Getting visibly older often he is half asleep when he gets out so with one eye closed he gives me the pirate.

if your lucky just make sure you tame him first.
No matter how it squeks at young age hold it in your hands thight and don't let it get anywhere.
a hamster has to know your the one with power even if it bites or nibles keep holding it and talk angry to it.
If you fail to do that the first week you get a spoiled hamster that bites anytime it doesn't get it's way.
was the mistake i made with my first hamster. (a hamster tyrant named Frodo)
respect the hand first and make sure it knows it is the hand that feeds it. ^_-
