The allosaur motion reminds me a bit the Trusler panoramic of Cretaceous Australian dinosaurs.

I see what you mean - hard to tell exactly what's going on here in this rough sketch. The idea is that the foot is coming into contact with the ground at an angle (without the ankle breaking!) and the toes are showing different degrees of flexion to meet the groundnote the claws are generally parallel with the leg.
