Kicking off 2009 with my annual Lilina picture. My coloring doesn't seem to be as mind-numbingly dense as it used to be. It looks a lot better in real life, but put it through the scanner and all it looks is grainy! Oh well.Drawing Lilina every year has gotten to be a bit of a ritual for me. She's fun and easy to draw, so I guess it's sort of like a marker for how much I improve each year...or don't. Here are all the Lilina's I've ever done, all lined up: [link]
I think I improved more between this year and last year than I did between last year and this year, maybe?

I don't think it is too grainy.
The only thing I might be able to point out is that the skirt is a bit TOO short.
Otherwise, your perception of shadow and light is very good (as I can see on the details of the clothes) and I like it how your strokes and colours are so neat unlike mine. I really LOVE this artwork of Lilina despite the fact there are so many pictures of her in this folder. ^_*

Scanner does that all the time. It looks grainy. Maybe your scanner has settings that lessen this grain effect. I know mine has. ^^
Great job on proportions! I like the lighting on her legs (can't word ot properly) though I'm in the opinion that her thighs are sorta big. Just me. But overall, it's beautiful.

Mouth seems a little high to me and the hand on the left looks a little too detailed. Makes her look a little older than she should, but overall, great progression, especially in anatomy.
And BTW I know I'm commenting on this like 9 months late but whatever. |D I've been inactive for a while.

Haha, well, it's never too late to comment on something. I do agree that 9 months is kind of late for critique-ish sort of comments like this, though. It might have been helpful back then, but at this point it's been long enough since I did this that it's sort of moot by now. :/

I see her legs got slightly larger this time around~ Must be the influences of your most recent artworks, neh? The coloring came out better, I'd say, as did the lively expression, with eyes and hair being my favorite part. ^^

I had no idea how to draw legs until I took my drawing class this semester, and the models we used all had normal-people legs and now I cannot do anything else. D:

Wow, I went back and looked at them all lined up and you've improved so much! The hands are amazing in this picture, and the folds in the clothes are really realistic. Great picture

Seriously though, you're improvement is definatly shining through with this piece. I am really, really digging that pose-side views have always been criminally difficult for me. And the coloring indeed has become a lot more subtle-but-defined. My only complaint is that her head is a mite bit small. Other than that, dang lady, good work.
And I also like how you went the THUNDER route this year.

(I had this thing for not looking farther than the picture itself, that means I didn't knew for a long time who was the author of a Deviation
