A beautiful piece of work, which reminds me very much of Ridley Scott's movies, notable 'Legend', and 'The Duellists' with that misty sunlight, which is one of his trademarks. The only thing that spoils this lovely work for me is the positioning on the centaur. (please note correct spelling although to be totally accurate, female centaurs are called 'Kentaurides'...or so says Wiki...)
What concerns me about the positioning is this:
Fistly, placing her torso in front of the backlit tree trunk, renders it invisible (on my monitor anyway) and so her human body is detached from the 'equine' body. Why is it black? Is she wearing some kind of skimpy black top? Centaurs (of both sexes) were traditionally naked (except the ones in Disney's 'Fantasia'...the female ones had strategically placed flowers, if memory serves... Anyway, if she was naked, being against that backlit tree would actually be beneficial. As it is, the only thing that 'joins' her human body to her equine one, is the positioning of her left arm, but this is actually another aspect that disturbs me. Why is she gesturing towards the ground? I would prefer that she gestured towards that 'gateway' and so doing, lead our eye into the picture, rather than leading it down and out of it. She would also be suggesting 'Come with me'...or don't you want her suggesting that? What is the narrative here?
One final comment: The lighting on the 'centaur' suggests a secondary light source, other than the sun, like a 'fill in flash' from the left, which isn't natural. As she is standing in the dappled shadows of the trees, I would have expected some dappled shadows on her back, as there are on the grass, but there are none. Also, the chroma of the equine body doesn't reflect the warmth of the light in the background, except a little in the tail. I would like to see a warmer tone of white.
Apart from those points, I think this is beautiful. Well done!

Thanks. Are you willing, and is it possible to make any changes to that work, as I suggested? I honestly think it would make such a diffence if you could. It's so close to being perfect, honestly. However, I imagine that being a photograph and not a digitally created artwork (like I do) that this image is not constructed in 'layers' and therefore, repositioning elements isn't really possible, which is a shame.

I thought that would be the case. Never mind. It's still beautiful. I wouldn't worry too much. It's only my opinion anyway. It's YOUR 'vision' that counts.
