Another Character Design! This time its pretty much just to get the flat colors out.
Mermaids in the world of M.Y.T.H. aren't really fish people like most humans would think. They're actually built more like jellyfish or water-balloons more than anything. They're living bodies of water, their backs are the thickest parts of their body, lined with with scales that are as hard as rocks and with their seaweed hair they can lay still to hide from anything and they'll look like their just part of the ocean floor. They're also pretty big, from head to tail an adult mermaid can be almost 20 feet long. Mira is still in her teen years (well, she's over 100 years old but that's pretty much still a teen in mermaid years) so she's somewhere between 12-15 feet long. When they die, their bodies do dissolve into sea foam and they pretty much disappear instantly, to return to the ocean they were born from.

So this is Mira, and she's one of my favorite original characters tbh. Ever since I was a kid, I always thought mermaids would be more like monsters than just being like some pretty ladies with fish tails. I think the most influential mermaids to me I remember are the ones from Disney's Peter Pan that were pretty much just like homicidal murderers, and damn I loved those babes so much. I thought they were super cool, frightening, but cool. So, Mira is very much a lot like those mermaids, on the one side, she got this bubbly, loving, and slightly hyperactive personality and is always wanting a hug from you... but on the other side she's got a permanent creepy smile on her face and it's almost hard to tell whether shes planning to hug you or eat you.
