Description So here we have some 'fan art' for Final Fantasy XI which I've started playing up again with Zor and another friend, NekoAli. Zor and I started RPing a little while we level and the two characters we played are starting to develop some from random encounters of screaming and the like.

Also I apologize greatly to anyone on my commissions list, it's been a busy semester and I think I may be suffering from a bit of artist block or burn out or something, so it's been rather hard for me to squeeze in motivated drawing time. This is kind of an exercise to try to get myself back into the groove again so I can get to work on those again before my next big school project and the semester nears its end

What?! Why have I not commented on this. This Zoryx is fantastic. His head is like the bulb of the onion, and then his body is like the extension of the shoot of the onion. Ingenious! The teeny-weeny booties he's wearing also bring joy into my dreary existence.

Also Captain Crunch is a bloody righteous name for an axe.

Why did you put this in digital art catigory? It looks like water colors and I see some splatters from water.

I assure you it is all digital, I did it on my tablet this morning. The water splatters and papery look are a paper texture I set as an overlay over the whole picture - and then I turned it very green, and you can kinda see there behind the edges of the frayed paper scan that even the background there is green. I drew all the linework and such in photoshop, and I've been trying to recreate that painted brush look people I see on DA do so very well on photoshop.

Another clue is the linework, and its mechanical smoothness in certain places, such as the Taru's head and the sides of the woman's arms. Not to mention the squares behind the text bits

Though I take it as a compliment that it does look like a watercolor!

Well its another nice one from Drunkfu. I dont know why people go through all the trouble to make digital art look like traditional art. It seems harder to me to do that if people already know how to draw just draw with an actual pen and paint

I thought the point of digital art was for that perfect, clean, shiny look.

Well you have more control when you do something digitally. You have control over where things are on the paper, you can try fourty different things in the background, make it all green monochrome or red, and clean digital text anywhere, delete it, go back and try a different typeface or what have you. And for conveniences sake, I dont have to go out and buy a beautiful piece of watercolor paper and bring my brushes and paint and all that - I just load up photoshop and break out the tablet.

And I cant remember how many times when I was painting or drawing that before I used an eraser I mentally went "control-Z"
