1ST TRIBUTE TO AKIRA TORIYAMA

NOTE: HE WAS ACTUALLY BORN ON 1955 SO IT SHOULD BE 1955-2024! SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE!

"Hey guys and gals. Mr.O here and as you may very well know by now, we have lost another beloved creator, but not just any creator....a legend. The one who's widely known for creating works such as Dr. Slump, Neko Majin, Sand Land, Jaco The Galactic Patrolman and of course, Dragon Ball. His name? Akira Toriyama."

"I may be a casual fan, but I do remember having some exposure to Dragon Ball, having played the Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi games for the PS2 and a game for the Wii which I believe was Revenge of King Piccolo. It's because of those bits of nostalgia that I have finally decided to put my focus on doing an idea that I mentioned to a friend quite a long while ago and it's this: Turning Death Battle combatants into super saiyans."

"With not much else to say, here's some lore."

STORY TIME

"Throughout the multiverse, there have been countless fighters, each being powerful and growing stronger with time. Some even become strong enough to be called a god and they are the ones who get chosen to take part in a tournament unlike any other. This....is the Tournament of Power, hosted by Zeno and his future counterpart who pick around 8 out of 12 universes, pitting fighters against each other so their own universe does not get erased from existence. Some of these universes include Universe 7, Universe 6 and of course, today's twin universes 8 and 9."

"On Universe 8, Akuma trained under the tutelage of Goutetsu as he learned a martial arts style mixing karate with Judo and Kenpo alongside his brother Gouken. They both learned of the deadly technique known as the Shun Goku Satsu, also known as Instant Hell Murder. However, as time passed, a rift would form between the brothers and Gouken would leave to train on the more peaceful side whereas Akuma chose to embrace the much darker aspect of it and became much stronger with it, soon drawing the attention of a otherworldly visitor. This...is a demon which paid Akuma a visit one night while he was asleep and tempted him further into the dark side, promising to show him the way to become stronger should he accept. Naturally, he did and once he accepted, he felt the demon enter his mind and with that, all traces of his humanity disappeared and he fought his master, killing him in cold blood. Following that, he would fight his brother and while Gouken held his own, he was no match for Akuma, who had gained the form...of the cursed Oni Saiyan."

"Following the murders of his former master and his brother, Akuma would search the planet for worthy opponents and battle them to the death..."

"Meanwhile on Universe 9, there is an island lost to the world of man and it is known as Themyscira, home to a group of powerful female saiyans known as the Amazons. Ruled by Queen Hippolyta, they pride themselves on their skill, grace and power, training alongside each other as they defend their land from invaders. However, Diana has a different plan, instead opting to go to man's world to learn from it and teach them the ways of compassion. In preparation for her eventual trip, she trained herself in every Greek and roman fighting style and tactic before heading off to America. There, she would meet fellow heroes such as Superman and Batman, whom she would help found the Justice League and fight together as one in order to save the Earth from danger."

"One such danger came in the form of Ares, the God of War, who came to conquer the world and drown it in chaos and war with the aid of an armor that boosts his already mighty power. Try as they might, the Justice League couldn't dent the armor and soon, only Superman and Wonder Woman remained standing. Overwhelmed with intense rage, she had finally achieved the form of a Super Saiyan and the tides turned in their favor. Together, the two heroes broke the armor and defeated Ares. Following such a battle, both Diana and Clark would grow closer and confide in each other about personal secrets. They would often even spar in a forest and improve on their abilities."

"As Akuma and Wonder Woman lived their lives, they're suddenly pulled away by the gods and once there, they would both learn of the Tournament of Power. Soon enough....they would battle against each other and give it their all to win."

"Only one of their universes shall live...."

"Not my best work, but I gotta say I still like how most of the illustration turned out, from the backgrounds to the cames of Pepsiman, Kid Goku and Akira's robotic avatar. I first posted this in a different site and you know what? I agree, I haven't exactly highlighted goku or any of Toriyama's characters all that much SOOO....I will work on a 2nd tribute for Toriyama, doing just that."
