IRON FIST vs PO

Hey guys and gals! Mr.O here with a track cover for an awesome martial arts battle! A battle between legends who overcame powerful odds and mastered their craft! This is the cover for Po, from Kung Fu Panda, vs Iron Fist, from Marvel Comics!

I began making this cover with the obvious part, an epic yet majestic dragon glowing with chi, the life energy that both combatants use to enhance their power. This dragon happens to be the tattoo found in Iron Fist's chest, which he got after his battle against the serpent known as Shou-Lou the Undying. In both wings, there's these circles and they represent the yin yang, the symbol of balance which appears on a staff that Po used before. That would be enough for the cover right? You're joking! I felt the need to add a beautiful and mystical background to complement this dragon. In this case, I included mountains, one of them having a house and a cherry blossom tree, surrounded by mist!

At first, I wanted to give the title a yellow color, but decided against it and instead, I went for the style of Asian writing or perhaps a typography style found in the titles of the Okami games. I know Okami has nothing to do with today's fighters, but it's title gave me the inspiration for HOW to do the lettering! So for their meaning, Immortal refers to Danny's alias as the Immortal Iron Fist while Dragon refers to Iron Fist slaying the dragon which gave him his powers and Po is well-known as the Dragon Warrior, protector of the Valley of Peace.
