N&W 475's 12-inch Hooter whistle.

I'll admit, I didn't care for this whistle at first, but its steamboat-esque sound really grew on me back during my 2019 visit. When the crew really lay back on the chord, you could swear they were making 475's "Mastodon" moniker quite literal.

475's donned several different whistles during her career at Strasburg; an 8-inch variant of the Hooter is the one she wears most often. These various whistles have also been in two different places. One spot is alongside the steam dome as seen here, and another is somewhat further back just above the left-hand side of the cab.
