Meet Syn, she is a Volpian (Vulpine Avian) this is a closed species and they are not for sale so I don't expect to see them anywhere but on my account and *stonefox101 's account who co-owns the species. If I do, I will be mad. Eventually we may give a FEW out but only to people we agree on having one.

Anatomy - read reference

Markings:
- Volpian's pelts are warm(red-yellow) colors with cool(green-purple) accents.
- Volpian's generally (but not always) have a white belly, bid tone pelt and darker markings.
- Stripes are the most common marking on a Volpian, they often resemble Thylacane stripes (4-6 stripes on their lower back)

Behavior:
- Female volpians cannot fly due to their short tail feathers wile males can. Females can however fly with a male if she holds onto his shoulders. His tail feathers will balance both of them out. This behavior is a bonding moment for the Volpian and is only done between Father/Daughters and couples.

Age: Volpian have a longer life span than humans, for every year a human lives volpian live 1.5 Volpian general live to be 120 (80) but can live up to 150 (100)

Age: 27 (about 18)

Gender: Female

Looks: In addition to what is on her reference Syn mouth is a pink/purple color and the back of her wing is the dark brown. The blue markings on her wing are the same on the back and the 2 orange stripes in the brown area continue over onto the back (though no other orange does)

Talents:

Cooking - Well, Syn considers it a talent at least. She knows how to make several dishes and is experimenting with more. They aren't always the best but Airo is a good test subject for new recipes.

Gathering - Syn knows what you can and can't eat in the forest. Lucky for them, otherwise they could easily have eaten some poisonous berries!

Nest Making - Syn is good at making nests, she's only patched them her entire life. She can make an over nite nest in an hour, its helpful when they're running from goons.

Gliding - Though Syn ends up spending a lot of time flying with Airo she is very fast at gliding through the trees. Not nearly fast enough to out-fly the Volpians after them though. This is why she spends so much time flying with Airo.

Personality:

Stuck up - Syn isnt always stuck up but when she's around Airo she can be. She likes to know she understands how to live in the wild more than he does and likes to watch him try to live this hard life even though its much better than hers used to be.

Independent - Syn hates being dependent on Airo for anything, especially flying. If someone sees them fly together they assume they are a couple and Syn just hates that idea.

Serious - Syn doesn't get jokes, and doesn't find Airos constant flirting funny or flattering. She has trouble enjoying herself a lot of the time because she spent so much of her life as a slave.

Buzz kill - Everything about survival is very important to Syn and she's been known to snap and Airo to do as he's told if he's goofing off, or just doing something she doesn't feel is important enough to waste their time on.

History:

Life as a slave: Syn was born and raised as a slave. Her job was to do Nest work for her flock's royal family. She would patch holes in the nest and care for the family. This job was the highest rank a slave could have, so high in fact that commoners almost respected them, almost. Syn's least favorite job was anything that had to do with Airo, the prince. When they were young and Syn still worked at her mothers side Airo was always rude to her. When she told her mother she wouldn't do anything, unlike when the other slave kids were mean. Even though he was rude most of the time Airo spent a lot of his time with Syn, you could almost consider them friends if they would stop bickering for 2 seconds.

Left behind: When Airo was 13 and Syn was 9, Airo left with his mentors to learn about leading the flock. Syn hated to admit it but she was sad to see him go. It was so quiet without him, the other slave children didn't like her very much because she hung out with the rich kid. In the time he was gone Ayn learned a lot about her job from her mother. Syn was a fast learner and even picked up on how to do other chores such as cooking and gathering.

Alone: In the time Airo was gone Syn began to become a much more confident Volpian. When she learned something she knew she was one step head of someone else but always worked hard because she knew she was one step behind someone else.

Return of the prince: When Syn was 23 and Airo was 27 he returned home. They hardly recognized each other. Syn of course remembered hating him when she was little but Airo probably couldn't even tell he apart from the other slaves. Of course Airo had become much more of a flirt is his time away and took a liking to Syn. Probably because she had to spent so much time around him taking care of his home, or maybe he even remembered her a bit. Airo would flirt with her as she did her work, this constantly bothered Syn and she would make sharp retorts to anything he said.

An innocent crime: Airo would only flirt from a distance though, Syn didn't know this, but if he got to close he could get in trouble because his parents would see it as romantic, the punishment for Choosing a lover who was lower class than him, let alone a slave, was to be cut off and exiled. One day, a year after Airo came back, he crossed a line. Syn started yelling at him, calling him an ass and other such things, she marched right up to snarl in his face. Airo wasn't intimidated, and didn't even stop to think about getting caught, he only continued to flirt trying to make her more furious. Of course they were caught looking like a couple, and his parents accused them of having a romantic relationship. They cut him off from their wealth, and banished him from the flock. Syn's punishment was much worse, she was to be killed for tempting a royal.

Kidnapped: Syn devised a plan to escape and live in the wild on her own no mater how risky the idea was. That same night Airo was to leave, he broke into The slave nests and kidnapped Syn. He wasn't about to let her ruin his life and not make her repay him, and maybe he even cared a bit and didn't want her to be killed. She went with a struggle not quite registering he was actually saving her life, she didn't want to be stuck with him. Eventually she relaxed and stopped fighting, she may be smart but she wasn't as strong, or as fast as him, fighting would only get her hurt.

Life in the wild: Airo expected Syn to do almost everything for him, from making his nest to finding him food. She didn't of course. Eventually Airo realized he would have to do his share of the work.

Airo [link] - Airo is such a pain, not only did he pick on me as a kid, pester me as an adult, and nearly get me killed but he kidnapped me and now we're stuck in the wild running away from his parents goons! But somehow I don't totally hate him. Once you get past his flirting and laziness he's an OK guy, I might actually like him if it wasn't for all that other stuff I mentioned, and I have to admit, without him I'd be dead right now.
