alternative version using the first design of her I would actually drawBoth characters are me, left is Cricket's VERY first design, originally named nitro. casparr designed her for me and thank god she did cuz if she hadn't she would literally have had the long/short line pattern that goes down the middle of the road spiraling around her body XD This wasn't the first design I really drew, it was too complicated for me but it did last a while even if it was never drawn, and it meant a lot to me. Cricket's new forehead markings are based on the star on her head, and she has always had 4 markings under each eye, usually dots
I drew the old design as a kitten because I had her when I was about 12, cricket's actually still a kitten, if she was wild she wouldn't have left her mother yet, she's only about 8 months old because that's about how old I am in equivalent (20)

The spots on her first design look so sparse lol At least they are a lot more balanced/fill the design up more. Are the inside of the legs on old Cricket based off an owl's feathers?

No, her markings are symmetrical they are both a bar on the inner elbow and broken on the outside
No I asked my sister for a dark gradient on the legs she added the white spots cuz it looked empty

I think that both of the first designs look like the spots/stripes still need to "fall into place" somehow, and on the current one it feels like they've come together and settled on a place. Does that even make sense? I'm not sure, but I like the development there, it does add to the "growing up" look

It's weird, I remember back when I had those old designs that I'd think about who I'd be now, and what my current(older) self would say to me. I still don't know what I'd say, but it's weird to think that I've reached that age.
