OHH in addition to the note I just sent, I find it really helpful to wear a long-sleeved shirt or sweater that you dont care about when painting. With watercolors, you can blot (not wipe!) away a mistake or drip completely, as long as its only been there for 10 seconds or less!
Also... like on Missy's upper beak in this pic, I let it dry for like 30 seconds, then patted some of the color away, making it look like her upper beak is lighter. Sleeves are cool!
