GILDADASH!! or as I call it dumbbelldash for people who aren't COWARDS
I love Gilda. I always thought she got a raw deal in her introduction episode...I mean she was only visiting RD for a couple days for the first time in years, I'd be pissed too if some annoying pink horse who practically lives next door to her kept interrupting me in that sort of situation.

Some headcanons/notes about my Gildadash family!
Usually only male griffons have manes, Gilda has one because she's transgender and chooses not to trim it. Gender roles are much more rigid in pony society than griffon society however. In griffon culture having a mane is considered attractive regardless of gender, and many female griffons wear fur collars for just this reason. Unfortunately, Gilda discovered the ponies of Equestria were ignorant to the nuances of griffon culture when her mane began to grow in during her summer at the same Pegasus summer camp where she met Rainbow Dash. Rainbow was just as ignorant as the bullies but she still stood up to them and she accepted Gilda even if she didn't fully understand her at first.
Rainbow retired from the Wonderbolts because she was just kinda tired of it. Staying in peak performance shape is hard work and it doesn't leave much time for anything else, and after saving Equestria half a million times her childhood dream seemed much less exciting than it did to her as a filly. After her retirement she starts writing and eventually publishing a series of complicated fantasy novels about two opposing houses. She's still working on the last two....there's been more than a few rewrites
