Description Yesterday I made my first ever felt plushie with blanket stitching - it's based on my little "Swirl from the Cupcake Crowd"

Materials:
Felt; light brown, pale pink, hot pink, purple, black
Cross stitching thread; light pink
Cotton stuffing
Cotton thread for cheek stitches

I am very happy with the end result, hope you like it

that's cute XD
you know how you blanket stitch?
don't you have to sew the inside first
before you do that stitch on the outside?
just wondering...

don't mean to confuse you
i'm just confusing myself -_-

thanks! I am glad you like my cupcake plushie!

hehe no you haven't confused me; hopefully I will be able to explain my process properly to you.

I started off by sewing all the detail on like eyes and the love hearts. Then I sewn the joining colours (where the light pink meets the hot pink; hot pink meets the tan) together using a blanket stitch. Once the front was made into the cupcake shape I used an patterned material for the backside of the cupcake and blanket stitched all around the edges. I didn't need to sew the inside first as the blanket stitch is a strong enough stitch to keep the filling in Felt is a really good material to work with when using blanket stitch as it is a sturdy fabric
